An add-on option to the K & M Arbor Press is now available. One pound of pressure will cause .001" of deflection, which can be measured by a dial indicator.
A dial indicator mounting block is added to the top of the ram. Mounted to the bottom of the ram is a small fixture that contains a stack of Belleville washers. Deflection of the washers moves a push rod; the movement of the push rod is measured by a dial indicator.
Note: A travel limit is designed in to prevent spring "set".
Any standard dial indicator will work. Best is calibrated in .001" with either 50 or 100 divisions per revolution and a minimum travel of .250".
